A Reading Fluency Worksheet

Agendas, we will be working in our agendas every morning recording our daily assignments and up coming news.  Please look at your child’s agenda everyday. Agendas are a great tool for teachers and parents to communicate daily.  I will be placing a mark, usually a happy face, to let you know that I was looking for any notes that you may have sent me. To let me know we are communicating sign your name at the bottom of the daily notions.   Please, help your child keep this book in his/her backpack at all times. Agendas will be graded as class notes on report cards.

“In The News,” will be every Wednesday, this will be class discussion time. Students are to share things of interest with the class that they have learned from one of the following: newspaper, encyclopedia, geographical book, magazine, internet or television. Students should mention three things they have learned.  For example:  Alligators have big teeth. Carry their babies in their mouth without swallowing them and lay eggs in the sand.    I do not want to talk about the war or any crime.  Parents must use their best judgment for news that is age appropriate. Don’t wait for the last day to look up something then it will become a chore. Make it a part of your weekly routine. You may want to make it apart of your family dinner discussion. Kids National Geographic is a great resource for "In The News" click on the link.

“Show and Tell,” Will be every Thursday, Students may show and talk about anything they want. Please don’t have your child bring items that are precious to them, valuable or breakable, All items must fit in student's backpack. No live animals.

Every Friday morning we will be having our weekly spelling test.
